Shooting dogs

C'est un des films qui m'ont le plus marqué...je l'ai regardé plusieurs fois et à chaque fois je ne peux pas m'en empêcher de pleurer de me poser des questions. Je me rends compte à quel point nous humains peuvent être égoïste, cruel et INHUMAIN!! Même les animaux peuvent faire preuve de plus de tendresse et de civilité.
Au faut, le film retrace une histoire vrai, des faits vrais, et même des personnages vrais. On a filmé au vrai endroit au tout s'est passé, il y a même des équipes du tournage qui ont vécu la tragédie.
Les évènements du film se déroule en 1994, au Rwanda, un pays qui a toujours été déchirer par la guerre civile...un pays sans grande richesse qui pourrait pousser les grands pays dirigeants le monde à essayer de le sauver pour avoir ses richesses.
Au cours du printemps et été 1994 un des génocides les plus sauvages s'est déroulé dans ce pays. Deux tribus rivales les Hutus et les Tutsis se sont toujours déchirés dans ce pays. Personnellement, je trouve absurde que des humains se déchirent quelque soit la raison, chacun doit être libre de vivre comme il veut, et personne n'a le droit de juger personne...surtout pas à cause de sa couleur de peau, origine ou religion. Ce que je trouve le plus absurde dans qu'au Rwanda, ils ont tous des noirs, les mêmes origines, la même religions. La seule différence c'est les tribus, et chaque tribu veut avoir le pouvoir. Le pouvoir , vouloir dominer l'autre, comme je déteste ces expressions!! 80% des guerres dans le monde sont pour dominer l'autre. On est tous né égaux, dans certains cas on a besoin d'un leader, un chef pour être organisé mais pas pour être dominé!!

En 1994, Joe Connor, jeune instituteur anglais, enseigne à l'École Technique Officielle de Kigali, tenue par Christopher, prêtre catholique anglais lui aussi. Dans la nuit du 6 au 7 avril, alors que le président Juvénal Habyarimana vient de mourir dans un attentat, 2000 Tutsis, sentant le génocide au Rwanda approcher, viennent se réfugier dans l'école. Les jours suivants, Joe et Christopher assisteront impuissants à l'évacuation des Occidentaux par les soldats français, puis au départ des casques bleus, laissant la voie libre aux tueurs Hutus.

Le film ne retrace qu'un seul cas parmi des milliers.

Le génocide au Rwanda est un génocide qui eut lieu du 6 avril au 4 juillet 1994 au Rwanda, un pays d'Afrique de l'Est. Il fut commis dans le cadre d'une guerre civile opposant le gouvernement rwandais, qui s'était auto-proclamé Hutu Power avant le génocide, et le Front patriotique rwandais (FPR), accusé par les autorités d'être essentiellement « tutsi ». Le 1er octobre 1990, des Rwandais exilés et regroupés au sein du FPR décidèrent de revenir au pays à partir de l'Ouganda et de prendre le pouvoir par les armes. Ce qui m'a le plus choqué à part la cruauté et la sauvagerie des humains dit "non civilisés" c'est la cruauté et l'égoïsme des gens dit "civilisés". Personnes, aucune communauté internationale n'a bougé. Le monde entier a observé l'exécution d'un peuple sans bougé le petit doigt.

It's one of the movies who made a difference in me. I watched it several time, and each time i can't stop my self from crying and wondering... I realize how us "Humans" can be egoist, cruel and UNHUMAN!!! Even animals can be more tender and civilzed...
Actually the movie is narrating a true story, real facts, even characters are real ones. It was realized at the real place where everything happened. There are even some of production crew have lived the tragedy.
Events of the movie had place in Rwanda, in 1994. A country that, always had been torn by the civil war between. A country without big richness that can push the big countries who direct the world to save it or take care of it to have its richness.
During the spring, summer 1994, one of the most savage genocides took place there. Tow tribes, Hutus and Tutsis had always fight in this country. Personnaly, i find it absurd that humans fight for any reason. Each one is free to live the way he/she likes and no one have the right to judge the other...specially for the color of his skin, his origins or religion. What i find it the most absurd is that in Rwanda they have all the same skin color, the same origins and the same religion!!
The only difference is the tribe, and every tribe want to have the power, wanna dominate the other...How much i hate those expessions!! 80% from wars in the world are to dominate the other. We are all born equals, in certain cases we need a leader to be organized not to be dominated!!!

Shooting Dogs, released in the United States as Beyond the Gates, is a 2005 film, directed by Michael Caton-Jones and starring John Hurt, Hugh Dancy and Claire-Hope Ashitey. It is based on the experiences of BBC news producer David Belton, who worked in Rwanda during the Rwandan Genocide. Belton is the film's co-writer and one of its producers. The setting of the film is the Ecole Technique Officielle (ETO) in Kigali, Rwanda in 1994, during the Rwandan Genocide. Hurt plays a Catholic priest and Dancy an English teacher, both Westerners, who are caught up in the events of the genocide. Unlike Hotel Rwanda, which was filmed in South Africa using South African actors, the film was shot in the original location of the scenes it portrays. Also, many survivors of the massacre were employed as part of the production crew and minor acting roles. The film's title refers to the actions of UN soldiers in shooting at the stray dogs that scavenged the bodies of dead. Since the UN soldiers were not allowed to shoot at the Hutus that had caused the deaths in the first place, the shooting of dogs is symbolic of the madness of the situation that the film attempts to capture. Francois Ngarambe, president of a Rwandan genocide survivors' association says that the film wrongly portrayed the genocide as largely the work of militia, neglecting the careful planning by the Hutu extremists in the government and the military.

The movie only recalls one case among thousands others.

The Rwandan Genocide was the 1994 mass killing of hundreds of thousands of Rwanda's Tutsis by Hutu militia. Over the course of approximately 100 days, from the assassination of Juvénal Habyarimana on April 6th through to mid July, at least 500,000 people were killed.[1] Most estimates indicate a death toll between 800,000 and 1,000,000.[2] The genocide was perpetrated by two Hutu militias, the Interahamwe, the militant wing of the MRND, and the Impuzamugambi, the militant wing of the CDR on one side, and the Tutsi rebel group, the RPF, on the other side. The Rwandan Civil War, fought between the Hutu regime with support from Francophone nations of Africa, as well as France itself, and rebel Tutsi exiles with support from Uganda, after their invasion in 1990, was its catalyst. With outside pressure on the Habyarimana's government, in 1993, the Hutu regime and Tutsi rebels agreed to a cease-fire, and the preliminary implementation of the Arusha Accords. The diplomatic efforts to end the conflict were at first thought to be successful, yet even with the RPF, the political wing of the RPA, and the government in talks, elites among the Akazu were against any agreement for cooperation between the regime and the rebels to solve the ethnic and economic problems of Rwanda and progress towards a stable nationhood. A resurgence in the civil war compounded the genocide. The situation proved too difficult and volatile for the United Nations to handle. The presence of Hutu refugees (see Great Lakes refugee crisis) on the border with Rwanda was the cause for the First and Second Congo Wars with clashes between these groups and the Rwandan government continuing.[1] The UN's mandate forbids intervening in the internal politics of any country unless the crime of genocide is being committed. The United States government did not recognize the genocide. The governments of Belgium,the U.S. are faulted for their inactions and their lack of support to the UNAMIR. France, in particular, is blamed in aiding the Hutu regime to flee by creating what is known as Operation Turquoise. Canada, Ghana, and the Netherlands provided consistent support for the UN mission under the command of Roméo Dallaire although it was left without an appropriate mandate for the capacity to intervene from the U.N. Security Council. Despite emphatic demands from UNAMIR's commanders in Rwanda, before and throughout the genocide, its requests for authorization to end it were refused and its intervention-capacity was even reduced.

What chocked me the most besides the brutality of the humans said "non civilized" is the cruelty and egoisme of humans said "civilized". No one, any international community didn't move. The whole world just observed the execution of a million people without doing anything. And u can see above what the world finally observed.
